At last! My book has been added to Goodreads and I’ve set up an author page on their site. I started working on this after I learned about the Speech Reads reading group on Goodreads from a conversation on the School-Based Speech-Language Pathologists Facebook page. I definitely wanted Not What I Expected: My Life with a Brain Injury(I Didn’t Know I Had) to be on their list!
If you are an SLP, you’ll want to join Speech Reads on Goodreads. Right now they are reading Ghost Boy: The Miraculous Escape of a Misdiagnosed Boy Trapped Inside His Own Body. So many good books are out there for the curious SLP to read! Too bad we can’t get CEUs for reading them!
If you do read my book, SLP or not, I hope you’ll review it on Goodreads, Lash and Associates Publishing/Training, or Amazon to give me some feedback. Or make a comment after this post! It’s so hard to lay yourself out there, wide open for all the world to see. Until the first reviews come through, I’ll be a nervous wreck. Hmm. Maybe I’ll still be nervous after a few reviews roll in. But I need to know what people think!
I want my book to be worth something to those who have their own concerns about brain injury and its stealthy ways being behind unwanted emotions and behaviors. I want to help others avoid the mistakes I’ve made and find that particular kind of brain-injured life acceptance.
